FAQ

How do you create each piece?

Each one is an original studio piece created with a combination of digital, hand, and painting processes.

I think the acrylic-mounted-to-wood pieces are about the most bomb diggity thing I’ve ever seen. How do you create those?

First off, you must remember that Gregg is an artistic ronin. These pieces require a bit of mind twisting to pull off properly because they are multi-dimensional. They are a combination of vinyl and paint applied to both the acrylic and the wood. In fact, trying to explain it further is headache inducing! Trust that it is very technical and the end product is just about the tastiest awesomesauce you’ll ever sample.

What type and size digital file should I submit?

If you are a casual photographer, a JPG or GIF will do. A high quality image (300 dpi) is preferred, but no less than a medium quality image (72 dpi) will do. Send us what you have, and if there is a problem with the image, we will let you know immediately and try to work something out.

What types of photos work the best?

The best photos are the ones that use a natural source of light without a flash. Photos taken with a flash may work, but the possibilities are less likely. If you submit a photo that does not work, we will contact you to figure out a solution that works in giving you the best painting possible. Please, no nudes. If you send us a nude, we will Tweet it.

Why do you use wood and not canvas?

Wood will stay nicer longer than canvas. No matter the quality of the canvas, there is always the possibility that the wood braces (over which the cloth canvas is stretched) can warp, especially if it’s not framed and hanging as just a bare canvas. The wood is a different story. We use a thick Oak wood composite that has little to no chance of a true warp. Also, wood is smooth and has a much finer line to it. Plus, you can’t karate chop canvas.

Why is the piece signed on the back?

Gregg puts a great deal of work and emotional investment into each piece. He knows he is giving you something he is proud of, and he backs the quality of each piece with his name. Besides, these puppies are going to be worth something in the future, and you’ll be thanking us for it later!

What colors are available?

You can see our Color Chart in a JPG or a PDF form. (This is a very long image and your browser may require you to zoom in to see it)

For the Bloom series, we chose five color combinations:  pistachio and buckeye brown; cameo pink and buckeye brown; almond and cherry; black and mediterranean; and black and natural wood.  If the color combos don’t match your interiors, these pieces are customizable upon request.

What colors should I choose?

You should choose whatever colors you like best! If you are having a hard time deciding, you can always go with monochromatic colors (two different shades of one color, i.e. light blue and dark blue) or with one neutral color (white, gray, brown, black) and a color that matches the room you would like to put the piece in. Complementary colors (red and green; blue and orange; or yellow and purple) are another great choice, especially choosing a lighter color to go with its darker complementary color, i.e. light green to go with magenta versus green and red. Feel free to ask us our opinion. We are more than happy to offer our thoughts and suggestions.

Do you provide framing?

We do not. Your piece will arrive ready to hang. If you desire to frame it, you will need to go to your local framer.

Are the pieces ready to hang?

Yes they are, if you want them to be. During the checkout process, there is a question about whether you desire the piece to be ready-to-hang or not. We mount two equally sized pieces of wood on the back, one to hang your piece from and the other to allow the piece to be equally raised from the wall.

What method of shipping do you use?

UPS Ground

Where do you ship?

We ship to the lower 48 states. If you need us to ship to Alaska, Hawaii or to international locations such as Canada, please contact us for shipping rates.

How long does it take?

Because each piece is an original, handmade studio piece, production time is approximately 4-6 weeks.  This time may be shortened or lengthened due to volume, and each piece is created in the order in which it is received.  We promise the wait is well worth it.

What methods of payment do you accept?

Our online payment service is with PayPal. We accept all major credit cards and PayPal accounts for secure online payments. No personal checks or indentured servitude offers will be accepted.

What’s your return policy?

Due to its customized nature, our pieces cannot be refunded or exchanged. If an item is damaged during shipping, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt with photos of the damaged piece. Also, please keep the packing materials because they are needed for UPS to conduct their investigation of why the piece was damaged during shipping.
